Ella Rock

Ella rock is a major attraction for both domestic and international travelers. It is situated in the Badulla district of Uva Province. This is a beautiful hiking and camping spot in Sri Lanka. Ella rock is 1041 meters above sea level and a peaceful place.

It has a misty environment. The hike to Ella rock takes between 3-5 hours. The view from the top of the Ella rock is marvelous. If you can plan a camping trip to Ella rock when you visit Ella, it will be a memorable one.

Lakegala mountain is surrounded by paddy fields, waterfalls, the village Meemure and with forestry treks. Therefore, you can have a nice experience in your camping adventure on this mountain.

The Lakegala mountain consists of Narangamuwa Lakegala and Meemure Lakegala. You need hiking skills to climb Meemure Lakegala as it is a dangerous journey. Narangamuwa Lakegala is situated within the Knuckles Mountain range and you should use ropes to climb the mountain.

Lakegala mountain has a historic value too. Ancients believe that Lord Buddha left his footprint on this mountain during his 3 rd visit to Sri Lanka.
